Geography Cat can’t stand the crowds, so he sent his specially trained stunt double into the city centre to do the Christmas shopping. And you know what Ike’s like, he can’t resist a selfie!
The clock tower at the northern entrance to the Victoria shopping centre was part of the Nottingham Victoria Railway Station, until that was demolished in 1967. You can see how it stood in the photograph below, taken in 1903:By Valentines Series – old postcard, Public Domain
The Exchange Building, to the rear of the Council House, always looks lovely at ChristmasThe Old Market Square, in front of the Council House, was the former site of Nottingham’s Goose Fair and was the central place between the old Norman and Anglo-Saxon settlements, being on Castle Rock and the current Lace Market respectively.
